The Cotsakos College of Business MBA program provides the flexibility to choose the best path to complete your graduate study. Students who wish to complete their degree quickly can take advantage of the full-time MBA path, either by pursuing the standard track or the expedited track. Others who are working full time or have family obligations may find the part-time flex MBA to be a great fit. Those who wish to place themselves on a direct path for obtaining an MBA degree right after completing a bachelor’s degree can take advantage of the accelerated option. There is also an accelerated path for students who wish to enroll in the MBA after transferring from a community college or other university. Full-Time and Full-Time Accelerated MBA The full-time or full-time accelerated MBA is designed to help you complete your MBA study quickly while also benefiting from a schedule rotation that allows for flexibility and mobility in your area of concentration. Under the full-time MBA, you usually take two classes (6 credits) in the fall, spring and summer semesters. If you wish to accelerate your MBA study, you can take courses year-round at an advanced pace. This typically includes four courses (12 credits) in fall, spring and summer to complete your required academic program. Part-Time Flex MBA The part-time flex MBA allows you to pace yourself while still becoming immersed in your academic studies. The part-time program is recommended for busy professionals who wish to take one to two classes per semester and aim to complete the program within two to two-and-a-half years. Courses are typically offered in a mix of hybrid and online instruction to provide a blend of direct interaction with instructors and peers and the flexibility that working adults seek. You may choose to accelerate your studies by taking additional courses in the summer. Accelerated BS/MBA Prospective first-year students who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science in business followed by an additional 30 credits of course work to complete the Master of Business Administration declare their intent upon application to the University. Students already enrolled at William Paterson University with 72 or fewer earned credits may apply to the Director of Graduate Programs for admission to the Accelerated BS/MBA. Students who complete the courses listed below and earn a minimum GPA of 3.0 at the completion of their BS degree can matriculate seamlessly into the MBA program: ACCT 2110 Financial Accounting ECON 2010 Macro Economic Principles ECON 2020 Micro Economic Principles ECON 2100 Business Statistics I ECON 2110 Business Statistics II FIN 3200 Corporate Finance MKT 2100 Principles of Marketing MGT 2000 Principles of Management During their final undergraduate semester, students must also complete a graduate application, submit an updated resume and are encouraged to meet with the Director of Graduate Programs for a GPA and credit review. Students enrolled in the Accelerated BS/MBA program who do not earn a minimum GPA of 3.0 may still apply for MBA admissions through the traditional MBA application process. Students enrolled in this program who complete the eight courses listed above with a grade of B or better prior to the start of their fourth year (i.e., having completed about 90 credits towards their degrees) and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater at that time may take two graduate level upper core or elective MBA courses as undergraduates. These courses will substitute for 6 credits of free electives within their 120-credit undergraduate degree program and could usually count towards the remaining 30 credits required for the MBA degree, if completed with at least a B grade, leaving only 24 credits to complete the MBA program. The Accelerated BS/MBA program also facilitates students who transfer to William Paterson University after completing an appropriate two -year associate degree from a community college and want to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in business (about two years, 60 credits) followed by an additional 30 credits of course work to complete the Master of Business Administration. They must declare their intent upon application to the University.
